This book bases its information on the Bible. It makes the basic assumption that it is a reliable source of information, inspired by God. The Bible is an historical document with more evidence of its genuineness than any other ancient document. We can be certain that we have the Bible as it was originally written. There are many fine, authoritative books on the reliability of the Bible; therefore, this issue will not be taken up in this limited volume. (Ask your local Christian bookseller for appropriate titles.) Thousands of years before he was born, the Old Testament Scriptures accurately prophesied the birth of Jesus Christ. Every detail of his life, and even the year of his death were foretold. The rise and fall of every world power in history was prophesied accurately by the Bible. It is scientifically accurate in details of health, astronomy, and in many other aspects that it took modern science thousands of years to discover. We will not be using the Bible as a codebook, but rather as a record of the way God has dealt with his family, particularly mankind.
